Calvary Chapel began in 1965 as a non-denominational church to minister to a lost generation of young people. Chuck Smith, the Pastor of Calvary Chapel, understood the importance of teaching through the Bible, declaring the whole counsel of God. Since 1965, God has blessed Calvary Chapel with hundreds of churches planted all across the United States , and throughout the world.
After serving for five years as an Assistant Pastor in Orange County California, Pastor Jon Bell felt the call of God to start a Calvary Chapel in Flower Mound, Texas . Desiring to see people grow in their faith, Pastor Jon realizes the necessity of teaching through the Bible, declaring the whole counsel of God (Rom. 10:17 ).
In May of 2004 Pastor Jon and his family left Orange County. Arriving in Flower Mound two days later they began services in their living room the first Sunday of May. Two months later the church moved into Blue Ribbon Preschool. A midweek service was soon added. In August of 2006 the church then moved from the Preschool to the cafeteria inside Marcus High School. In June of 2007 the church moved from the cafeteria to the school auditorium. On June 7, 2009, Calvary Chapel Flower Mound moved into its own facility at 1001 Cross Timbers Rd., Suite 1050, Flower Mound, TX 75028, where it currently meets.
